5 Neat and easy ways to burn calories all day, every day!

You know that friend, the one who is always tapping her leg, getting up to straighten the bookshelf, the one who generally just can’t sit still? She’s likely burning an extra 200 to 300 calories a day on top of any workouts she does or the amount of calories she burns just being alive. This process is neatly called NEAT, which stands for “NonExercise Activity Thermogenesis” (say that 5 times fast!), and it’s essential for successful weight loss. Basically, it’s the extra stuff you do, physically, all day long that adds up. Make a point to add more “neat” into your day and you can zap another 500 calories! Here are a few ideas:

Do crunches in bed: You could burn about 20 calories in under 5 minutes just by drawing your knees to your chest 25 to 50 times, plus it strengthens your abs and gets your blood pumping.

Check out these 10 ways to boost your calorie burn
Dance around while getting dressed: Turn up the radio or listen to upbeat music on your iPod (if you can) while doing all your morning rituals—an hour of hip shakin’ can burn about 55 calories.
Tired of the belly fat? Dance it off!
Stand up! Don’t sit when you can be on your feet—you’ll burn about 40% more calories. So just take a stand—when you’re on the phone, watching kids at the playground, making small talk at a party.

Laugh :) : Watch something that’s consistently funny (like 30 Rock) and you could burn about 40 calories if you guffaw for 10 to 15 minutes straight.

2 Minutes to a happier, healthier you! Walk, pace, jog down the hall: In other words, MOVE! Doing little bits of activity all day—taking the stairs to use the restroom on another floor at work, doing an extra lap around the grocery store—can help you burn an additional 375 calories a day!

Forever Young

Forever Young!

Hey girls,
Okay, do you just love the pic attached!Someone sent this image to me with an attached joke that we'll choose not to post, but the photo made me laugh out loud in the most affectionate of ways.

I don't know who owns this seriously delightful face! Don't know what life her milky eyes have beheld; what stories lie within each beautiful deep crease; whether she's known heartache or joy, nor if the journey revealed in her thinning silver hair, is one of victory or not. All I know, is that she's turned up in my email box, with a tiara on her head and with room for all of us to ask a question - "what will life reveal of me if and when I reach her golden age?" (the joke suggested she'd lived a somewhat indulgent life and was only … wait for it … 35!!!!!)

Anyway, our bodies are temporal and whether we like it or not girlfriend, they're gonna fade, but what about our spirits? Are they going to fade or strengthen with the passage of time? Are they going to loose their innocent "child likeness" or will "child like faith" increase as we ourselves grow in the wonder of who God our Father truly is? Will our spirits heighten in sensitivity to His Spirit, or will we become dull of ear, hard of hearing, lethargic, immoveable?

Personally, I have no delusions regarding the aging process. Age comes to all of us and we can navigate it with or without wisdom and grace, but it's my spirit that intrigues me more. With each passing day I want to grow stronger in the knowing and revelation of who this God truly is. With each passing day I want to grow more sensitive to the Holy Spirit who is given to be our faithful and loyal travelling companion. With each passing day I want to align more tangibly with His heart for this crazy planet that teems with His humanity.

So what's the purpose of my slightly romantic, poetic rambling? Just want to encourage whoever opens and reads this, to NOT WASTE one precious day that now exists between us and that Day when we will all stand before Him. Who knows how "far away" or how "soon" it is. That really doesn't matter, what matters is TODAY and how we each steward today.

Isaiah 55 in the Message is lovely. I laboured it at Colour this year. Speaking of God's words that water the earth, He says "So will the words that come out of My mouth not come back empty-handed.They'll do the work I sent them to do, they'll complete the assignment I gave them". I'm praying that every word He speaks over our collective lives will accomplish its mission … and that in turn, every word of life (or prayer) that proceeds from our mouths over others will also accomplish its mission! Hopefully right now a few "amens" are being whispered out into the atmosphere!

OK – so if you are one of my local Hillsong Sydney Sisterhood girls, I really hope you will position yourself at Sisterhood THIS THURSDAY! As you would know I've been in Europe recently with both Colour London and Kiev, and I want to share with you some moments that I think are critical to who and what we are about as a Sisterhood! Plus, I've missed ya beautiful faces up close and personal!

Have a fabulous week everyone. Be safe, be strong, be blessed!!!

Counting Calories

My "two scoops won't hurt and neither will these french fries" approach to eating doesn't lend itself well to swimsuit season. Although the beach treks may have begun, there is time to make change. So, let me have it. What's that ice cream going to cost me in workout minutes? To tell us is Charles Stuart Platkin, also known as the Diet Detective. He is the author of five books and and host of WE TV's I Want To Save Your Life. Here is his report on what some of our chain-food favorites should cost us in time spent doing common exercises...
Note: Calorie content of foods are based on official website information at the time of publication. Minutes of exercise are averages based on a 155-pound person. The greater the weight of the person the more calories burned per minute.

Stephen Johnson Syndrome (SJS)

Pahami Obat agar tak Terkena Stephen Johnson Syndrome

The Wonder of Prayer

Have you considered the wonder of prayer?
That we can pray anytime, anywhere?
That we can lift our hearts to God above?
To one who cares for us with his tender love?

Oh, how good to turn to him when in need!
To know he listens, that he pays heed!
To bring our burdens to him, and to bring our care!
To sense he's waiting just to meet us there!

God wants us to bring our needs to him,
whether they're big or small.
None are overlooked by him.
He's concerned about them all.

If you are God's child,
here's what you should do:
Pray to him daily.
He wants to hear from you.

Pray in the name of Jesus,
God's own beloved Son.
He honors the name of Jesus,
and remarkable things get done.

Give thanks for God's answers
given to your prayers.
They are his reminders
that he really, truly cares!

a woman strength

The verse that first comes to mind when I think of strength is the one which says: “but His strength is made perfect in weakness”, and so many times I have quoted this verse, mostly to myself, sometimes to others. But it is not an excuse to be a bag-of-jelly and expect God to do everything for me. I am really coming to believe that strength starts with me. It is not about attempting to do things in my own strength, but recognising that I am responsible for taking the first step. It takes strength to say “yes” to God, and “no” to those things which are not of God, but have to trawl that strength up from deep within ourselves, even when we really don’t want to! Once we have taken that first step then God indeed comes in and gives us strength for the journey, but initially, it is not about wimping out. Every first step is a step of the will, directed rightly towards God or falsely away from Him…
But golly ~ it can hurt!

this below i got frm Dee Cheeks, please read!

it is called a woman strength..

A strong woman works out every day to keep her body in shape but a woman of strength looks deep inside to keep her soul in shape

A strong woman isn’t afraid of anything but a woman of strength shows courage in the midst of her fear

A strong woman won’t let anyone get the best of her but a woman of strength gives the best of her to everyone

A strong woman makes mistake sand avoids the same in the future but a woman of strength realizes life’s mistakes can also be blessings and capitalizes on them

A strong woman walks sure footedly but a woman of strength knows when to ask for help

A strong woman wears the look of confidence on her face but a woman of strength wears grace

A strong woman has faith that she is strong enough for the journeybut a woman of strength has faith that it is in the journey that she will become strong.

May GOD powerfully bless you all.
Keep fight..
Be a woman of GOD!

Akeelah and the bee

This is one of many reasons you should watch this movie..
it's enlightened. empowered. inspiring. awakening.

Below is what Dr. Larabee wants Akeelah to know..
read this:
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. We ask ourselves,"Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?"Actually, who are you not to be? We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same."
"A Return To Love: Reflections on the Principles of a Course in Miracles" by Marianne Williamson
May you be blessed!
