I read 320 books at 9. So can You!

I recently found a new amazing kid that's been such an inspiration for kids in this age. She's Dayna Tan, the author of  "I read 320 books at 9. So can You!" which I read yesterday.. I feel so blown away with how this amazing kid could read such number of books and could write such a great book in her very young age.. She inspires me in the way Adora Svitak* did.. :) I read her book nonstop.. many new information I got from her book and I have made up my mind to make reading a fix part of my life and not to force myself to read books I don't feel like reading it so that my love for book will not decrease even a few.. haha..
Any book you recommend me to read?? :D

"You don't need to be a "A" student to write a book."

"You don't need to be good at writing compositions in order to write a book."

"If you have passion in the topic of interest, you can write about it."

"Many children have the impression that a good writer must be good at writing composition in school."

"Ideally yes, but not necessary! Simply because, in writing composition, you are given very limited time to complete the composition. Whereas in writing a book, you can take as long as you want to improve the contents, the sentence structures, the grammar and the choice of words."

"So don't be discouraged, IT IS POSSIBLE even if you did not score "As" in your compositions."

"Everyone can write a book if they write according to their interest!"

"It took me nine months to complete the book, not ninety minutes!"

"Reflecting back, I think it was difficult at the beginning because...I told myself that it was difficult."

Secret Garden

It's such a long time I haven't really interested with Korean Dramas.. until once upon a time (story telling mode: on) I saw this movie (Secret Garden) on TV.. Well, my Mom and my house maid are the one who love Korean Dramas and that seemed to be contagious.. I couldn't hide that I love this movie like A LOT!! I recently realized that I love to see boy and girl whose relationship was not so romantic from the beginning to the end.. This is a typical Korean drama I like to watch bcuz it's not too mushy or mawkish, however.. :)

A Chat With Jesus

Jesus: Hello. Did you call me?
Man: Called you? No. Who is this?
Jesus: This is Jesus. I heard your prayers. So I thought I will chat.
Man: I do pray. Just makes me feel good. I am actually busy now. I am in the midst of something.
Jesus: What are you busy at? Ants are busy too.
Man: Don’t know. But I can’t find free time. Life has become hectic. It’s rush hour all the time.
Jesus: Sure. Activity gets you busy. But productivity gets you results. Activity consumes time. Productivity frees it.
Man: I understand. But I still can’t figure out. By the way, I was not expecting YOU to buzz me on instant messaging chat.
Jesus: Well I wanted to resolve your fight for time, by giving you some clarity. In this net era, I wanted to reach you through the medium you are comfortable with.
Man: Tell me, why has life become complicated now?
Jesus: Stop analyzing life. Just live it. Analysis is what makes it complicated.
Man: why are we then constantly unhappy?
Jesus: Your today is the tomorrow that you worried about yesterday. You are worrying because you are analyzing. Worrying has become your habit. That’s why you are not happy.
Man: But how can we not worry when there is so much uncertainty?
Jesus: Uncertainty is inevitable, but worrying is optional.
Man: But then, there is so much pain due to uncertainty.
Jesus: Pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional.
Man: If suffering is optional, why do good people always suffer?
Jesus: Diamond cannot be polished without friction. Gold cannot be purified without fire. Good people go through trials, but don’t suffer. With that experience their life become better not bitter.
Man: You mean to say such experience is useful?
Jesus: Yes. In every term, Experience is a hard teacher. She gives the test first and the lessons afterwards.
Man: But still, why should we go through such tests? Why can’t we be free from problems?
Jesus: Problems are Purposeful Roadblocks Offering Beneficial Lessons (to) Enhance Mental Strength. Inner strength comes from struggle and endurance, not when you are free from problems.
Man: Frankly in the midst of so many problems, we don’t know where we are heading.
Jesus: If you look outside you will not know where you are heading. Look inside. Looking outside, you dream. Looking inside, you awaken. Eyes provide sight. Heart provides insight.
Man: Sometimes not succeeding fast seems to hurt more than moving in the right direction. What should I do?
Jesus: Success is a measure as decided by others. Satisfaction is a measure as decided by you. Knowing the road ahead is more satisfying than knowing you rode ahead. You work with the compass. Let others work with the clock.
Man: In tough times, how do you stay motivated?
Jesus: Always look at how far you have come rather than how far you have to go. Always count your blessing, not what you are missing.
Man: What surprises you about people?
Jesus: When they suffer they ask, “why me? When they prosper, they never ask “Why me” Everyone wishes to have truth on their side, but few want to be on the side of the truth.
Man: Sometimes I ask, who I am, why am I here. I can’t get the answer.
Jesus: Seek not to find who you are, but to determine who you want to be. Stop looking for a purpose as to why you are here. Create it. Life is not a process of discovery but a process of creation.
Man: How can I get the best out of life?
Jesus: Face your past without regret. Handle your present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear.
Man: One last question. Sometimes I feel my prayers are not answered.
Jesus: There are no unanswered prayers. At times the answer is NO.
Man: Thank you for this wonderful chat. I am so happy to start the day with a new sense of inspiration.
Jesus: Well. Keep the faith and drop the fear. Don’t believe your doubts and doubt your beliefs. Life is a mystery to solve not a problem to resolve. Trust me. Life is wonderful if you know how to live.
Man: Thank you so much.
Jesus: You are always welcome. Have a good day my friend.
"Always remember, God’s Word is the Word for YOU."

Just because someone prefers to speak English most of the time DOESN’T MEAN that s/he is too western-centric (if that’s even a word) or that s/he can’t “love” Indonesia or that s/he has been getting rid of nationalism and been corrupted. Such retarded thought is so two thousand and freakin late. Another poor excuse to tolerate underdevelopment.

Our Family Wedding

Curious with the title of this post??
haha.. i haven't married yet, guys.. neither planning to marry nearly.. :) I was just went back home after lecture and turn my TV on, tune into star movie and then watch a movie entitled "Our Family Wedding". So, it's about a movie that I watched and not about me..
This movie pretty much tells about a newly engaged couple,Lucia and Marcus, one is Mexican other is African and they're planning to get married. As you may guess, their family tradition and the cultural thingie are the cause of problems in this story.
However, the two main lessons that I learned from this movie are First. There is truth to the saying - that when you marry someone, you marry their entire family. Second. No matter how mad you make them, your parents they will always love you.

The second lesson was actually found in the scene when Lucia's Dad talk to her.. Her Dad supposed to be mad at her for one problem but I love what her Dad said that "Even when I'm mad at you, I will always love you" the speech was thereabout. Well, I sorta get a revelation when I heard the response of Lucia's Dad.. It was like our Heavenly Father, no matter how bad we have been, He will always love us. For His love is unconditional. Yeahh.. We supposed to be thankful for having a God, a Big Awesome God who is also our great great Father and Saviour..
Hope you also learn something from this post.. :)

October Bliss

Well, This October was such a blissful month. It started with my sibling sister Melinda's birthday (Oct,1) then my brother Fiby's birthday (Oct,2) then my auntie Like's birthday (Oct, 3), my sister Octa (Oct 4), and so many more to mention.. And it pretty much went as I declared it to be when I prayed.. that this month gone full of blessing..

Let me tell you some stories of how God answers my prayers and bless me this month..

First, it was a random request that I had.. One evening, I was so hungry and speak to myself as if my Mom n Dad would be back home with some food.. and THEY DID.. they did come home with a delicious Fried Noodles. *prayer answered*

Second, last Tuesday.. I have 2 different subjects in a row taught by the same lecturer Mrs.Bachmid.. In the first subject started 9.20 she didn't come.. and we all assumed that she already gone somewhere out of town as she told us last week about her plan..and apparently she's not. Her departure will be next week and not this week and we're going to have mid-term exam that day.. and you know what's happened?? I knew about that news while I was sitting in cinema with Shisy and Angel watching Pirates of Carribean for about 20 minutes.. It was causing a big dilemma and quandary whether I should go back to campus or continue watching.. regarding the length of time needed if I go back to campus, I'm afraid that I couldn't make it.. and then I pray that God would be so kind letting me have supplementary exam when Mrs.Bachmid back from her destination.. Fyi, none of my friends have ever experienced having supplementary exam to Mrs. Bachmid before.. but miracles happened... She told the class that she's waiting for those who haven't take this exam to join it the next two week as she arrived home.. Isn't God great?? *another prayer answered*

Third, It was quite funny to tell about this next answered prayer.. one afternoon, I was watching "Secret Garden" (Korean Movie) with Mom and Dei.. Twas getting bored and unlikely to see the 2 main characters' souls being exchanged.. I was quite absurd to see man acting like woman and conversely.. that's why I say aloud.. "O c'mon, let their souls being exchanged again.." and you know, after I said that, the plot happened according to what I did said.. Sounds silly, huh?? Maybe you also hv experienced that..but, i somehow amazed how can this simple thing happened.. Almost all that comes out from my mouth, happened as I said..
The words of believers have power, indeed! Even about waking up in the morning, whenever I asked God to wake me up in this certain time, He always faithfully answered my prayer by waking me up that precise time.. God is so trustworthy. Anw, I also have another story.. that just happened about 17 hours ago.. Well, yesterday in Final PPI 2011 I'm tweeting that I like the answer of Puteri Sumut, Sabrina in Big 5 QA session.. but I didn't mention her bcuz I didn't follow her on twitter but surprisingly she somehow found my tweet and reply 'thanks' to me.. How come?? haha..

In conclusion,  knowing how powerful our mouth can be.. let us speak good things about ourselves, and people around us and let us not use our mouth judging others or cursing them or even make rumors about others.. One more thing, I've learned that God answered our prayers even before we literally pray.. He already knows what's inside our heart & mind.. and feel free to submit your request and plea to God,. as long as we keep doing what's good and pleasing God, there's no reason for God not to answer our prayer.. Instead, He's the God who always wants to hear our prayer and answer it according to His Master plan for our life..

Be blessed,
Claya ★

I CAN COOK

It may sounds silly that as a woman I never cook something other than Nasi Goreng (Fried Rice) or Mie Instant (instant noodle) and Telur dadar / mata sapi (Fried egg) until my teenage years.. It's so rare for me to be in the kitchen. But, it was quite a fast development for me myself that I start to cook something like Rendang (beef cooked with coconut milk - Indonesian recipe), Macaroni, and Japanese tofu in my age of 19.. Even that still needs perfection and bla bla bla..

And now as I turned 20 I start to cook Spaghetti and also invent a new scrumptious food I named "Breadchetti".. Sounds professional, huh?? I named it so because it consist of ingredients like crusty bread, cheese, and spaghetti sauce.. I wonder if you guys can taste it someday and drop any comments.. haha
However, I promise to learn how to cook well.. even not aiming to be a professional chef but at least I could cook something palatable and luscious for my future family.. :)
